The Lewis backhoes are easily fitted to a chassis fixed to the tractor and can be removed in less than five minutes complete with hydraulic pump and reservoir. The backhoe has its own hydraulic oil reservoir and pump which is fitted to your tractor's P.T.O. This allows the machine to be attached to and detached from the tractor without connecting or disconnecting any hydraulic supplies.
The design of the operators area includes a non-slip floor and safety hand rail to ensure that access on and off the machine is as safe as possible.
There are a variety of Lewis buckets to suit all backhoes and digging conditions.

Depending on your tractor and the model of backhoe, Lewis backhoes can be attached by either standard 3-point-linkage or by a custom made combination of backhoe beams and a tractor mounted under-chassis.
Lewis tractor beams are available for many compact tractor models and provide a very secure and reliable fixing point for our backhoes. In addition to this, the fitting/removal time is less than five minutes.

• Reverse towards the machine and align the spigots on the tractor chassis with the relevant slots in the backhoe beams.
  
• Connect the backhoe pump to the PTO. ( Some backhoes can be operated by using the tractors own hydraulic supply, in these cases, there is no need for a pump or an independent hydraulic system. )
  
• Use the control valves of the backhoe to raise the boom arm slowly. This will allow the location pins at the front of the backhoe beams to locate in their sockets in the tractor beams.
  
• Secure the front mountings with the supplied lynch pins to complete the fitting process.
